The US president has said that a major mistake has been made on the Old Continent when huge influx of migrants was allowed.
US President Donald Trump blamed today the migrants in Europe for, according to him, the rise in crime in Germany, saying that the US does not want the same fate as far as what is happening to Europe with immigrants.
"The people of Germany are turning against their leadership while the issue of migration is already a weak coalition in Berlin. The crime in Germany is on the rise. A big mistake has been made across Europe that allowed millions of people to forcefully and vigorously change its culture," Trump said.
Reuters, however, notes that crime is falling dramatically in Germany. According to the German police, in 2017 there were 5,6 million minor offenses in Germany, the smallest since 1992. This is the lowest level of crime in Germany in the last 30 years, the British agency adds.
TRUMP: THE US WILL NOT BECOME A MIGRANT CAMP
President Donald Trump said today that the United States will not become a "migrant camp," Reuters reports.
"The US will not become a migrant camp, and it will not be a refugee facility, it will not," Trump said at a meeting in the White House.
He accused the Democrats of not wanting to negotiate with the Republicans on immigration legislation.
Referring to the criticism of the children being separated from the their migrant parents, Trump said: "I say that this is the fault of the democrats as well."
He added that a country without borders is not a country at all.
