Romanians not giving up on protesting

Several thousand Romanians again tonight took to the streets to demand the government's resignation after an attempt to mitigate the law against corruption. About 2,000 people gathered in Bucharest and chanted "Resign" and "Thieves".

"The current government has lost its credibility. The Social Democratic Party won the elections, there's no question about it, but it has to find honest people to run the country," said the demonstrators.

About 3,000 people gathered in Cluj in northwest Romania, where demonstrators waved flags of Romania and the European Union.

In Romania, the largest anti-government protest since the fall of communism was held because the center-left government issued a decree easing anti-corruption laws.
