North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged congratulations today on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japan, North Korean state media reported.
In the messages, Kim and Putin expressed a desire to deepen bilateral ties on the basis of a co-operation agreement reached during their first summit in Vladivostok in April last year, the KCNA news agency reported.
In the message, Kim said that the relations between the two countries have been constantly growing since then, and wished Putin more success in "building a powerful Russia and prosperity for its citizens," Johnap reports.
KCNA reports that Putin said that the agreement between North Korea and Russia from last year "contributes to the further development of reciprocal cooperation and the promotion of peace and security on the Korean Peninsula."
