TEHRAN - A person has been arrested in Iran over recording the downing of a Ukrainian plane last week when 176 passengers and crew were killed.
The details of the arrest are not known at this time, and the BBC reports that the arrested person is expected to face national security charges.
The Iranian military has admitted that it inadvertently downed a Ukrainian plane near Tehran, stating that it was a human error.
Iranian President Hasan Rohani said that this tragic event should not be blamed on one person and that others should be held responsible.
After the video appeared on social media, analysts estimated that it could be seen that the plane had been hit by a rocket.
Iran announced on Tuesday that arrested persons have been arrested in connection over the downing of the Ukrainian plane. It is also alleged that 30 people were arrested for "participating in illegal gatherings".
The New York Times reported that footage recorded by a security camera shows two rockets being fired at a plane, 20 seconds apart.
